Preparing for the New Academic Year? Watch this video:
The
Key Times is a new online magazine especially for teachers
but for anyone involved in the education of children and young
adults.
KeyStages.net is developing an ongoing project with UK schools. Approved writers will work with one or two students, aged 10-13, in Primary and Secondary Schools and other educational environments, to produce a ten-minute monologue. Essentially you will facilitate the students’ ideas but the project is also a motivational exercise designed to boost the confidence of and academic egos of the students and to surreptitiously encourage them to study more. The finished piece will be something they will be proud to put their name to (alongside yours).
KeyStages.net are seeking to patent their Language Study Aid which was the brainchild of a mature student studying Latin and having great difficulty with verbs. We would like to hear from any Modern Language teachers who would be interested in evaluating the system.
It's
not even autumn and they're already galloping off the shelves. Harvey
Nichols, Harrods, Matches, Browns and Selfridges all have jodhpurs
on order. But no store is being specific about actual arrival dates.
Or perhaps they're being deliberately secretive. "End of August
to the beginning of September" is the closest I can get.
Patchwork
An exciting, unique and major Arts Project free to enter and to take part for British and Irish Schools, children and young adults. An exercise in cooperation and an illustration of what people can achieve when they work together. We are currently compiling a list of Primary and Secondary Schools and Sixth Form Colleges throughout Britain and Ireland who are interested in taking part - please register your interest as soon as possible and check back here for developments.
THE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES ON THIS SITE ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE AND HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED FOR ALL UK TEACHERS*
KeyStages.net’s website has been in development since September 2006 and will officially launch in September 2007. All sections have been developed for UK teachers but are of interest to anyone involved in the education of children and young adults.
SAVES TIME AND MONEY AND HELPS TO MOTIVATE LEARNING
In addition to saving teachers (and their schools) time and money, KeyStages.net aims to provide them with an additional means to inspire, to motivate and to assist children and young adults to take up more educational and cultural activities; to improve their understanding of subjects and topics and to enhance what they are taught in classes.
KEYSTAGES.NET’S DEVELOPMENT
As part of its development KeyStages.net undertook a telephone survey of thousands of schools throughout the UK. Not only was the response very encouraging but many ideas, received and arrived at as a result of our conversations with schools and individual staff, have greatly influenced the website’s development. An email will soon be sent to the database of emails collected during our survey to welcome the schools we contacted.
